HYBYCOZO‘s sculpture, Mandahlia, was installed on November 14th, 2020 at 169 State Street in Los Altos.  Mandahlia, a commissioned, site-specific sculpture, is inspired by the spiral of petals radiating from the center with a mesmerizing mathematical pattern. This design is based on the Fibonacci sequence and is found throughout nature; the formation of a nautilus shell, the swirl of a hurricane and the distribution of petals on a flower. This piece seeks to evoke the beauty in mathematics and connect us to nature.

At 9 and a half feet-tall, Mandahlia is a diamond shaped piece composed of 10 stainless steel sides. It is illuminated from within, with 2 colored LED lights that produce intricate patterns on the ground surrounding the artwork.

HYBYCOZO consists of artists Yelena Filipchuk and Serge Beaulieu plus an assortment of expert fabricators, handlers and installers. HYBYCOZO creates, fabricates, and installs artwork throughout the world.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Arts Los Altos was able to purchase Mandahlia for the community of Los Altos to enjoy.
